The next morning, on October 7, surveillance images of a grocery store in San Antonio Heb captured Brad and his truck, which contained a large ice chest.

Later that morning, he bought food in a Drive-Thru in Kendall County, Texas, and the images of the camera captured three white garbage bags, a heavy duty garbage boat, an ice chest and a “large voluminous article wrapped and insured in a blue canvas” that was supported by a fire shelf in the back of Brad’s Truck, according to the aphine.

Shortly after the Drive-Thru, Brad was supposedly seen buying two cement bags, a construction cube, a box of heavy duty garbage, spray disinfectant of chlorox and repellent of insects with cash in a nearby home, the police learned through cell phone data, surveillance images and reception of recently out of home.

Suzanne’s friend reported that she disappeared on October 7. When the police contacted Brad about the disappearance of his wife, he allegedly told them that he had not seen her since October 6, around 11 pm

On October 8, Brad exchanged text messages with his former friend and commercial partner, James “Val” Cotter, who is also accused in the case.

“If you are on a flag, can you transport me to my house?” Simpson supposedly sent a text message. “I don’t have much time.”

In a text message after Brad, Cotter wrote: “Put here! I will not tell anyone” and “You are my brother.”

Cotter was accused of manipulating evidence with the intention of affecting an investigation and possession of prohibited weapons in Suzanne’s disappearance. He published bail in November 2024.

The authorities arrested Brad on October 9, 2024 and Cotter on October 21, 2024.

On October 9, Texas Rangers executed a raid order on Brad’s property in the flag county, where they found a burning site at ground level with a burned laptop and multiple cellular devices. They also registered their truck and identified spots that proved “presumitively positive for blood”, which were tested and determined that it was Brad’s blood.
