More than 500 days have passed since the brutal attack of October 7 of Hamas, the most fatal assault to the Jews from the Holocaust.
More than 500 days of topics of certain politicians. More than 500 days of empty words. And yet, hatred against the Jews is not decreasing, it is exploiting. In New York, home of the largest Jewish population outside Israel, Jewish students are not only unequivocal, they are not safe.
New York Jewish students are under siege. The numbers do not lie:
This crisis is real and is getting worse. The reports place New York in the “Hall of Shame” for the anti -Semitism of the campus. Institutions such as Cornell, Columbia, The New School and Nyu have received failed qualifications for their management of attacks against Jews. The University of New York City (CUNY) and the schools of the New York State University (SUNY) have also been plagued by repeated incidents of repeated incidents anti -Semitic harassment. It is more than unacceptable: it is a misfortune.

Let’s be clear: freedom of expression does not mean free rein to terrorizing Jewish students. In Barnard College, we have witnessed interruptions in the Pro-Palestine classroom, protesters who assault the campus, wounded an employee of the school and increase the tensions beyond control. These individuals did not express an opinion. They were impossible for Jewish students to learn safely.
Students have the right to protest. They have no right to command property, intimidate their classmates or spread violent hatred. If you cross the line of protest to persecution, the appropriate response is not a warning. It is expulsion. While states like Florida and Texas are taking bold measures, New York leadership remains asleep behind the wheel. Meanwhile, Senator Chuck SchumerGovernor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams pronounce the same tired speeches, condemn hatred in press releases and then do nothing. Jewish students are still being harassed, attacked and silenced. New York democratic leaders take for granted the Jewish vote, but they should not. They have allowed this crisis to fade under their clock.
As a proud Jewish-American legislator and a member of the Caucus of Jewish legislators in the New York State Assembly, I refuse to stay while our students are forced to live with fear. Combating anti -Semitism is not about politics. It is moral clarity. And that’s why I’m taking action.

I presented the United Against Hate law, a bold and common sense to combat anti -Semitism through education, consciousness and action. My invoice includes:
It is not just about politics, it is about making sure that the next generation understands that the hatred of the Jews is not an abstract concept. It is a real and present danger.
While New York democratic leaders offer lip service, President Donald Trump He has been the strongest defender of Jewish students in the United States. His administration took real measures against the anti -Semitism of the campus when others only offered empty words. President Trump’s executive order on combating anti -Semitism trained the Department of Education to hold universities under Title VI of the Civil Rights Law. Due to this order, the federal government has launched research on five universities where anti -Semitic harassment has become rampant. This is how real leadership is seen. And that is the standard that we must demand.

History will judge us for what we do at this time. Will we stay while hate against Jews is not controlled, or will we take bold measures to stop it?
Jewish students should not have to hide their identity to feel safe at school. They should not have to ask if their teachers, classmates or administrators will defend their rights. And they should certainly not stop using themselves, while politicians offer nothing more than hollow statements. If schools and universities refuse to act, then we must hold them responsible. If they tolerate anti -Semitism, they must be disbursed, simple and simple.
This is a proof of moral clarity. I know where I’m standing. Where are New York leaders?
