Red alerts were issued for floods and landslides for Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna

Floods and landslides have been informed in parts of northern Italy in the middle of red climatic alerts that affect cities, including Florence and Pisa.

The torrential rain caused the alert of parts of the Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, with a strong and persistent rain that is expected until Friday afternoon.

Toscany president said local rescue and health services were on a maximum alert and advised residents to exercise “maximum attention and caution.”

Earth landslides and landslides in Bologna were reported, where some residents were evacuated Thursday night before heavy rains during the night.

No victims were reported, and the city said the worst flood had passed at mid -morning.

A family of four was rescued from a landslide in Badia Prataglia, Toscana, on Thursday night, according to local media.

The National Fire Brigade said he had received dozens of calls after Rimaggio flooded and flowed through the Fiorentino Sesto area on the outskirts of northern Florence.

In Pisa, flood defenses were being erected in the Arno River, since local authorities warned that it had exceeded the first level of flood risk.

The roads were also affected by floods and fallen trees, with residents in Florence advised against all trips after the A1 highway was partially closed.

The schools closed in more than 60 municipalities in Tuscany, local media reported, as well as several campus of the University of Florence.

The red climate alerts, which indicate a serious risk of extreme and generalized floods, will continue throughout the day.
