A group leader of the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Syria has been killed in an operation by members of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service together with the coalition forces led by the United States, said Iraqi Prime Minister.
Abdallah Makki Muslih al-Rifa, also known as Abu Khadija, “was considered one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world,” according to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said that “he was relentlessly persecuted for our intrepid warriors.”
The United States Central Command (Centcom) published in X what appeared to be a video of the strike, which he said was held in the western province of Al Iraq’s Anbar on Thursday.
Abdallah Makki Muslih al-Rifa was the head of the most important decision-making body of IS and was responsible for the operations, logistics and planning carried out by IS worldwide, said the central command of the United States.
He also directed a large part of the finance for the Group’s global organization, Centcom added.
Publishing in his social platform of truth, President Trump said: “His miserable life was finished, along with another ISIS member, in coordination with the Iraqi government and the regional government Kurdo. Paz through the fortress!”
Abdallah Makki Muslih al-Rifa was found dead to each other is operational, said Centcom.
“Both terrorists used ‘unique suicide vests’ and had multiple weapons,” he added.
The Centcom and Iraqi forces were able to identify it through a DNA DNA match collected in an anterior raid where he “escaped by little,” he added.
General Michael Erik Kurilla said: “Abu Khadijah was one of the most important members throughout the global organization of IS.
“We will continue killing the terrorists and dismantling their organizations that threaten our homeland and the allied and associated personnel in the region and beyond.”
Once 88,000 square feet (34,000 square miles) of territory that extends from the northeast of Syria in northern Iraq is carried out and imposed its brutal rule to almost eight million people.
Iraq declared the defeat of IS in December 2017 and the group was expelled from its last territory in 2019.
However, militants and sleeping cells continue to have a presence in various parts of the country and carry out sporadic attacks against the army and the Iraq police.
