Naje Harris was one of the main perspectives in the NFL 2021 draft, and the Pittsburgh Steelers used their first round selection in the corridor.
Four years after he was the number 24, Harris’s mandate with the Steelers has come to an end. Pro Bowler entered the free agency market and agreed for a year Contract with Los Angeles Chargers.
During his introductory press conference with his new team, Harris admitted that he realized that his time with the Steelers was running out.

“The coach T (chief coach of the Steelers, Mike Tomlin), we are quite close to certain ways, so he knew what was coming,” Harris said. “I didn’t plan to do it. It wasn’t something that was in the plan or anything.”

In the combination of exploration of the NFL last month in Indianapolis, the general manager of the Steelers, Omar Khan, said the team had not “closed the door” upon returning to Harris.
Harris said he was always aware on the commercial side of The NFL.
“But it’s a business. The coach T told me that when I was a rookie. Even in my last year, he told me: ‘This is the commercial side of things,'” Harris added. “I simply took that, and I understood. I knew that this would be my last year … Maybe, as, until the end of the season, I knew it.”

While Harris experienced some ups and downs in Pittsburgh, his general production was consistent. Ended the four seasons with The Steelers with at least 1,000 yards per land. It was also durable, appearing in the 68 regular seasonal games during its four years with the famous franchise.

Harris had to deal with some instability along the offensive line of Pittsburgh and some rotation in the Quarterback position during his period with the steelers. Harris shared passionate comments after the Steelers launched a game to the Cleveland Browns in the middle of the 2023 season. The team then went from offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
The Steelers refused to exercise the fifth year of Harris last year.

Harris expressed his enthusiasm for talent throughout the offensive line of the Chargers.
“Identity is what does the works, the integrity of how it is,” said Harris. “And that is what brought me here. Seeing their games throughout the season, to see how your line works or, how good your line is and how they end and the integrity they bring.
“I feel that is what makes the moves the line. They have a good line or, so I just want to take advantage of.”
Harris ran for 4,312 yards in his four seasons with the Steelers. He added 83 yards on the floor in three postseason games.
