“Early that morning, a coyote approached a group of children waiting at a bus stop and tried to bite them, starting some clothes and trying to take a backpack,” WDFW said in a press release. “The adults in the scene intervened and the school bus arrived; the children left on the bus. Fish and wildlife officers and the wildlife conflict staff responded to the scene.”

Earlier on March 7, a coyote bit a man in his open garage in the factory neighborhood. He was treated in a hospital by minor injuries.
On March 6, a woman was sitting on her backyard when a coyote approached her from behind and bit her on her leg. He was able to retire inside his home in the neighborhood of Norwood Village while the coyote continued to chase her, and was then treated by minor injuries.

The WDFW authorities believe that the coyotes themselves were involved in each incident.
“Prevention is the best tool to minimize conflicts with coyotes and other wildlife. Keep the cats inside, keep dogs with strap and avoid early walking in the morning and afternoon with your pet in areas where it is known that the coyotes are,” WDFW said in the press release. “Do not leave disregarded young children where coyotes are seen or listened to frequently“
