TO Colorado woman Who survived the shooting in Columbine High School more than 25 years ago, after a battle against cancer.
Karissa Rund, 40, known for “his resistance, courage, dedication and permanent service to God,” he succumbed to colorectal cancer on March 3, according to a Gofundme page and his obituary.
“Karissa was a shooting survivor in Columbine, a widow of war, fought against cancer in stage 4 for 10 years, and the greatest encouraging that most of us had known. His mission of service to people, proclaiming the hope of God despite pain and suffering, and being a light despite the darkness, this legacy has changed his corner of the world. His presence in this world was a gift of Gofundme Seting for her husband, do owner.
“Doug, day after day and day, served disinterested and unwavering Karissa in his illness,” the statement added. “He worried tenderly and carefully about all his needs, noticing the small details, knowing how he wanted/like things.”

Karissa Rund, from Westminster, said on her website that she was 11 when her mother died of breast cancer and survived the shooting at Columbine high school at age 14.
“When I was 20, I became a war widow when my husband and my high school girlfriend were killed in Iraq,” he added.
Rund then committed to Doug Rund, the brother of his late husband Greg Rund, who died in Fallujah by fire of small weapons, according to media reports.
Rund said he was diagnosed with colon cancer in stage IV at the age of 31.
“I have supported nine surgeries, an incalculable amount of suffering and pain, as well as two years of chemotherapy … and that part of my trip is not made,” he wrote on his website.

“Karissa was a permanent maid of God,” added the obituary. “She was a force of friendship in this world, a lover of adventure and a deliger in the victories of all those around her.”
