Right now, It is clear that the Democrats They are in a crucial moment, and we need to choose an agenda that really addresses the concerns of the Americans.

In the mid -1990s, when former President Bill Clinton He ran for re -election, he chose an agenda that spoke with the American people, not the most extreme wing of his party.

It is essential that Democrats use a similar method today.

In the first place, it must recognize that, although the electorate wants a fundamental change, it is not enough to say: “We need to face Trump and demonstrate against him.”

I understand logic, but this simply does not work.

Our party needs to defend clear ideas and have an agenda that reflects a vision of the world that is distinctive, but not adversary.

In other words, Democrats should be shown as a competent alternative to the Republican Party, but they cannot do it if all their agenda is resistance.

Let’s be clear: the American people want a reduction in inflation, a safe border and a smaller and more efficient government that produces economic growth and can create jobs in other ways that increase their own size.

Clinton pointed out both in 1996 when he said that the great government era has ended. This concept is increasingly alien to today’s Democratic Party, which has not yet become familiar with the idea that the government can deliver people without being excessively great.

That said, the American people, and the financial markets, are clearly uncomfortable with the extreme behaviors that are currently coming from the administration.

For example, what Elon Musk and Doge are doing agency by agency intends, in theory, but the chaotic and wholesale cut of entire agencies by whim threat with flying to the economy.

Democrats need an alternative to Doge, but they have not been able to have this conversation.

Beyond that, we must take measures to stimulate economic growth. Like The Wall Street Journal outstandingAn extremely positive Trump policy was to allow companies to deduce the total cost of the CAPEX in the year.

Democrats must adopt that growth support policy, and others as Preserve state and local taxes Deduction (salt) and tax cuts extending.

In addition, Democrats must abandon their excessively regulatory ideas that increase costs and delays in housing and infrastructure construction. The Democratic governor of California, Gavin Newsom, recently adopted this approach to rebuild his state, but the rest of the party has not been able to continue.

This goes far beyond basic economic principles. Rather, it is quickly becoming a significant political vulnerability for the Democrats, such as the New York Times columnist, Ezra Klein, rightly described.

Writing on the Times, Klein said that democratic strengths have seen decreases of mass population almost completely because the anti-recipient and excessively regulatory agenda of Democrats makes the cost of living in cities and blue states out of reach.

This will not only erode the political power of the Democrats by changing the votes of the University of Congress and Electoral to the traditionally red states, but also gives the lie to the claim of the Democrats to be the party of the working class.

In addition, Democrats must begin to promote the choice of school and even support the role of Charter schools. For an example, Success Academy has been a model institution, and this should not be overlooked, particularly because our public school systems continue to receive failed qualifications.

To that end, the progressives will blame the state of public education for the disdain of the Trump administration for the Department of Education, but the facts are that the worst schools of the Nation tend to be in deep blue areas.

Democrats need an alternative to Doge, but they have not been able to have this conversation.

Beyond this, we need different types of schools, since it is no longer true that each work requires a four -year title. Vocational and commercial schools are equally important and must be supported equally, if not more.

Critically, Democrats also need to find a common sense approach to border security.

There is absolutely no reason why the Democrats should attack the Trump administration for closing the border only a few months after an election in which voters overwhelmingly rejected the open border policy of the progressives.

It is true, there is a significant question about how we can forge a bipartisan immigration agreement that recognizes that the dreamers and those who have played by the rules deserve a path to citizenship. But there is no need to throw the baby with the bath water and refuse to work with the Republican party in this.

Ezra Klein

Along the same lines, Laken Riley’s law, for which several Democrats voted, is a clear example of what most people find logical and reasonable.

There must be absolutely no room or clemency for criminals who are illegally here. That is not inhuman, it is the most basic level of common sense.

Taken together, Democrats must realize that they are not providing an alternative. They are so consumed with resistance that they have not been able to gather: “Yes, we are for a smaller government, but the key programs such as Medicare or Medicaid must be protected.”

Finally, there must be a sense of hope, aspiration and commitment to stability both at home and abroad.

Tariffs are fine to protect us from China, but, as markets have demonstrated, they are less good when these policies change every few days, as we have seen with Mexico and Canada.

The predictability and stability must be the basis of our foreign policy.

No one opposes the idea of ending war in Ukraine, or that the United States should recover some benefits. It is also difficult not to have sympathized with the US president given what happened in the Oval office, when Trump met with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

Of course, I was glad to see President Donald Trump restore the exchange of American intelligence and military aid to Ukraine, since the role of the United States in the defense of that country of Russian aggression remains essential.

There must be absolutely no room or clemency for criminals who are illegally here. That is not inhuman, it is the most basic level of common sense.

Ultimately, the argument for Democrats is really stability, hope and a sincere commitment to the American people.

If the Democrats do that and can articulate these policies, there is the opportunity to resume the house in the middle of the period. But making stupid VideosMaintaining silly signs during the joint speech to Congress, and the organization manifestations is worse than harmful, it is shameful.

I’m still a Democrat. However, I have made clear my growing concerns and frustration with my group.

To claim their roots, preserve their political viability and make voters like me proud of our party, they must take a page from President Clinton’s book and adopt this bold agenda.
