The veteran Democratic strategist James Carville predicts that others within his party will follow California Governor Gavin Newsom When speaking against the transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.
Newsom arrived at the headlines earlier this month about their pivot to object to biological men who participated in women’s sports, calling it “deeply unfair” in a podcast conversation with Turning Point Founder Point USA Charlie Kirk.
“I think it’s an opinion that most Americans have,” Carville reacted in an interview Fox News Digital.
“I’m not so big at the state meeting, but athletic administrators can solve this,” he continued. “It is not an important problem for me, and we assumed a lot of water for something that we were not going to (board).”

A survey conducted by the New York Times in January found that Almost 80% of Americans Opplying biological men in women’s sport, including the huge 67% of Democrats.
Carville rang the alarm on the unpopular position that Democratic officials have adopted on the subject.
“If you think the problem is so important, then you must convince people,” said Carville. “They are telling people that we have to be brave and for this. Why don’t you change public opinion and desire a choice, and then you could achieve your goal? But at this time the public does not want it. And you are asking the Democrats to do this. And everything you are doing, they will not change in the short term. And all you are doing is helping the opposition.”

Despite being a rare 8-20 problem for Americans, Democrats continue to advocate unpopular vision. Earl this month, Senate Democrats blocked a bill That would prohibit transgender athletes in women’s sports.
But Carville did not believe that his group was wrong in blocking the bill.

“I think this is a problem of athletic associations,” said Carville. “The governor of Utah, all good, Governor Cox – them He gave him an anti-trans sports bill. And he said: ‘Look, I have 100,000 high school athletes in the state of Utah. I have four that are trans. This is not my problem. Someone said that 50,000 women athletes in the NCAA and maybe six (are transgender). Let the NCAA solve it. That is not a problem of the state legislature. Let the Olympic Games face it. ”
“I really used to make a track. So I see the meeting of the NCAA track. I never think about it! It does not happen to my head. I do not think there should be a legislative solution for this … That is not a legislative problem. It is a problem for associations. We do not need to have anything that stops the association’s ability to determine the eligibility rules in any sport,” he added.
