Astronauts dot on Earth after a prolonged stay in space

NASA Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore have splashed near Tallahassee, Florida, after nine months at the International Space Station.

They hit Nasa Hague with NASA Astronaut and Russian Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.

Williams and Wilmore were in space for 286 days after technical problems in the Boeing spacecraft that was destined to return them to Earth.

Its original mission was destined to last eight days.
