As Maine continues to challenge the executive order of President Donald Trump to prohibit trans athletes from girls’ sports, the administration has increased its focus on the state as one of the key battlefield on the subject.
Earlier this week, the Office of Civil Rights of Health and Human Services (OCR) officially announced He found the Department of Education of Maine, the Association of Directors of Maine and the Gleely High School in violation of Title IX for its continuous authorization of trans inclusion in girls’ sports.
Now, the interim director of OCR, Anthony Archeval, has provided a statement to Fox News digital warning on the possible consequences for the continuous challenge of the executive order.
“What the HHS is asking about the Department of Education of Maine, the Association of Directors of Maine and Grelyly High School is simple: protecting the rights of female athletes. Girls deserve sports only for girls without male competitors. And if Maine does not come to the table to voluntarily comply with title IX, HHS will enter the title IX of the title IX to the maximum allowed,” Archeval said.

The initial announcement of the HHS that the entities had violated Title IX also warned that the State had 10 days to correct their policies through a signed agreement or risk derivation to the United States Department of Justice for appropriate actions.
According to reports, the Trump administration has recently fulfilled its vote of reducing federal funds to enforce the executive order. On Wednesday, Fox Business reported that $ 175 million in federal funds to the University of Pennsylvania It has been leisurely about its past inclusion of trans athletes in women’s sports.
Last week, a temporary pause was put in funds from the Department of Agriculture to the University System of Maine, Fox News Digital reported. This financing has been restored since then.
Now, Archeval’s warning occurs a day after the association of the director of Maine issued an answer to the Trump administration statement that the State had violated title IX.
“The alleged violation is due to MPA’s policy, which is a direct result of Maine’s human rights laws, the mandate that athletes can participate in the teams that are aligned with their gender identity. MPA’s policy is consistent with Maine’s state law,” the answer is read.

“The determination that MPA has violated the title IX first requires that the MPA be in Title IX due to receiving direct or indirect funds from the federal government. In short, a small part of our funds comes from 151 member schools that receive most of its property taxes and the state. Most of the funds come from ticket sales, sales, backs, transmission, transmission, transmission, television, television and the other. Jurisdiction of Title IX on MPA “.
HHS delivered a violation notice to MAINE STATE On February 25 and declared that the State violated title IX by allowing Trans athletes to compete in girls’ sports, Fox News Digital reported. Later, HHS expanded the scope of the investigation to include the Association of Directors of Maine and Grelyly High School.
