George Kambosos JR, bleeding and breath after barely scraping a last minute substitute that had a ticket for the program six days ago, took the microphone and decided to shout in a vacuum: “Hitchins, come on!”

Somewhere in Brooklyn, Richardson Hitchins probably fell out of the chair laughing.

Because after a night where Kambosos Jr just escaped from Jake “It was not a training” Wyllie, now he is screaming on the mountain in one of the 140 most elegant pounds on the planet as if he had just smoked Devin Haney, Teofimo López and Barboza on the same night.

Survive first, shout second

Let’s be clear, this was not domination. It was nothing at the elite level. He was a former champion of two lower divisions hanging late, cut, being pressed back by an Australian national level who received the call in a weekend while he was still a piece for his sand seat.

Wyllie went from eating Nachos in the stands to almost alter the main event in less than a week. And kamboos? It seemed that I barely had enough gas in the tank to explain what has just happened, much less explain why it deserves another opportunity for the world title.

Even so, George gave us the sound of the night:

“Sh **-Chins will not fight anywhere as difficult as he (Jake Wyllie). Hitchins, come on!”

Yes, he really said that. While staying in blood.

Companion, Hitchins would land 300 blows in five rounds and make you balance in the air until your arms fall. This is no longer 2021, and you are not the guy who surprised Teofimo. You are the guy who has just been life and death with a guy who received gloves delivered on Tuesday.

Hitchins has entered the chat

There is still no official Hitchins response, probably because it is too busy watching the fight reproduce and laugh. You don’t have to say much. The footage does it for him. Boxea circles around the upper contestants. Kamboos? He simply survived nine rounds with someone who had not entered since December.

The worst night of Hitchins is cleaner than George’s best lately. And now George wants him with head to head?

Finger with what? A guy who admits that he only “wonderfully” fits for five rounds and then spent the rest keeping his face together?

Leave it to Eddie Hearn to pretend that this was part of a great plan:

“If that cut is cured, we have an appointment at the end of June … George Kambosos JR to fight for the World Championship in the United States.”

He says this as George was hardly slapped in his own backyard. Eddie’s work is to sell the next fight. That is clear. But trying to launch this disaster as impulse? That is industrial degree optimism.

The only thing George demonstrated on Saturday was that he can still exceed ten rounds without collapsing. Barely.

And the entire argument of “warrior from head to toe”? Hitchins has made a career by not being still and laughing at the fighters who try to drag him into a fight. So the plan here is … what? Out-Jabed for 12 rounds and then ask for a trilogy?

Wyllie – The True Star

Here is the truth: Jake Wyllie came out of Qudos Bank Arena with more credibility than George. Fans know it. Matchroom knows it. Wyllie did not get a victory, but obtained a contract. Because unlike George, it seemed that he gave more than he had.

He made a six -day notice in the performance of his life. Kambosos turned eight years of bomb into a bloody and uncomfortable disaster that looked like a return tour that went wrong.

“Victory was never in doubt,” they said.

Sure. Because the letters said it. But if Wyllie had another week to prepare, there is a true possibility that we have a very different conversation.

Kambosos 2.0? Or simply made?

What is George now? A guardian? A brand? Or a former delusional t -shirt that still clung to that Teofimo night as if it were 2021 forever?

Because this version of Kambero does not beat Hitchins. He doesn’t even touch it. And the fact that he is asking for that fight after this Performance only demonstrates one thing: it is slavery or desperate.

Blood, the cut, the fight, everything led to a speech after the fight that is read as a fantasy fiction.

“Let me fight with me. At the end of June? Bring it.”

If Hitchins accepts that in June, it is because he wants a combat session at a live stage.

And let’s be honest, even then, George could be biting more than he can chew.
