The new surveys reveal what Americans think about Trump’s months in their second term.

“Today we took a very historical action that was 45 years in process,” Trump said in a signing ceremony of the White House. “It’s time.”

Trump has been in a tear since he returned to White House Two months ago, flexing his political muscles to expand the presidential powers, since he has overturned the long -standing government policy and made great cuts to the federal workforce through a wave of orders and executive actions.

Trump has signed about 100 executive orders since its inauguration, according to a Fox News count, which far exceeds the rate of recent presidential predecessors during their first weeks in office.

The president promotes that “many great things are happening” and that “things are going very well”, but it is clear that Americans are divided into the work Trump is doing so far in his second service tour in the White House.

Trump’s approval index was 49% in the latest National Fox News survey, with 51% giving the President a thumb down in the survey, which was conducted from March 14 to 17.

Problematic surveys numbers for Democrats

The Fox News survey is the latest national survey for Trump’s approval index slightly under water, and is also the last to indicate a massive partisan division over the president and his agenda.

The ninety -two percent of Republican respondents approved the president’s performance, while the same percentage of Democrats gave Trump a great thumb down. More than six out of six independents said they disapproved the work Trump is doing.

The 49% general approval index of the president coincides with the maximum of all time for Trump in Fox News Polling, which arrived for the last time in April 2020, near the end of his first mandate in office. And that is six higher points than where he was at this time in his first administration (approval of 43% in March 2017).

The number of Trump surveys was almost completely in negative territory in most surveys during the entire first mandate in office.

“The difference is largely a function of the consolidation of the republican base,” Daron Shaw, who works as a member of the Fox News decision team and is the republican partner in Fox News surveynoted.

“The party is completely solidified behind him,” added Shaw, a professor of politics and president of the University of Texas, who said that the current support of Trump’s Republican Party was not the case at the beginning of the first mandate, when he had problems with some Republicans.

Shaw stressed that “the Democrats consolidated Trump in 2017. Now they consolidate against him.”

Pointing out recent surveys that indicate the favorability of the Democratic Party in the minimum of all time, he said: “They do not like their own party, but everyone agreed that they don’t like Trump.”

While Trump’s survey numbers are superior to where he was eight years ago, there has been a bit of sliding.

An average of all the most recent national surveys indicates that Trump’s approval ratings are just below water. Trump has seen that his numbers are reduced slightly since he returned to the White House at the end of January, when an average of his surveys indicated the president’s approval index in the 50s and his disapproval in the mid -40s.

Contributing to the slide: the economy and nerves that Trump tariffs on both enemies and friends will cause greater inflation, which was a pressing problem that maintained the approval ratings of the former president Biden well below the water for most of his presidency.

The latest Fox News survey, as well as other recent surveys point to a growing skepticism about Trump’s economic actions and policies.

Shaw says everything is reduced to independents.

“If the Republicans are locked in favor of Trump and the Democrats locked in opposition, they are only independent,” he said.

Surveys indicate that independents are currently giving Trump an approval to their management of the economy.

But Shaw offered that “if inflation falls a little, if there is some growth, those numbers are going to turn. That is what the independents do. They go with the times.”
