The promoter Eddie Hearn was enraged on Saturday after they told him that a critic said that Anthony Joshua is not credible to fight for a world heavyweight title after his last disastrous sample.
Hearn pointed out that Joshua (28-5, 24 kos) is the “Larger commercial drawing” In the division, which means that he can fight whoever wants. If you want to fight for a world title below, you can.
In other words, Joshua is not subject to the usual rules that apply to other fighters. You can do whatever you please because you are a former heavyweight champion. It is always good to know that some combatants receive special treatment and that do not qualify.
It would mean more if Joshua had defeated the high -level fighters to capture their two world titles, but that did not happen. AJ beat an average daily heavyweight weights to become a heavyweight champion twice.
How Joshua became a twice heavyweight champion:
I’s Royal Road
“The way the world works is if you are the greatest name in the heavyweight division actively, which is Anthony Joshua at this time, the greatest commercial attraction now that Tyson Fury is retired. He can fight whoever wants at any time,” said promoter Eddie Hearn so that Ring MagazineReacting to be told that a critic had said that Anthony Joshua, 35, is not credible to fight for a world title after his recent Quinta Ronda defeat in his last fight against Daniel Dubois on September 21.
“Jake Paul is not credible to fight Canelo Álvarez, but signed the contract. AJ is a twice heavyweight champion and is still the biggest name in the division. Therefore, he can fight whoever wants, but I don’t think he fights for the World Heavyweight Championship.
It would be silly for Joshua to fight for a world title against current champions because he has no chance against them. The Amb heavyweight champion, the WBC and the OMB OMEksandr Usyk already educated AJ twice.
After the second defeat, Joshua looked crazysnatching the USYK belts and throwing them out of the ring. AJ’s diatribe inside the ring was difficult to listen, since it made no sense and sounded as if a joint had flown. It would be useless for Joshua to fight Usyk or Dubois now.
If Hearn wants Joshua to fight for a world heavyweight title, the ‘regular’ champion of the WBC, Kubrat Pulev, would be a pleasant and safe choice. Pulev, 43, recently captured the Amb Secondary Belt with a victory over Mahmoud Charr, and jumped to the opportunity to fight AJ again.
