The promoter Eddie Hearn says that Richardson Hitchins will defend his Welter weight title of Light IBF against #3 George Kambosos Jr. On June 21 if George’s cut is cured at that time. If not, Hitchins (19-0, 7 kos) will face someone else on that date.

Hearn does not say who will be the backup plan for Hitchins if the cut of kambero is not cured. He suffered the cut against Jake Wyllie, was hit hard by the young weapon, which proved to be much more difficult than expected. His youth, power and weight size of Natural Light hindered the life of Kambosos. George is not built for the 140 -pound division, and we saw it against Wyllie.
Emperor test
Kambosos, 31, debuted at 140 on Saturday night, defeating the Wyllie replacement opponent (16-2, 15 ko) for a unanimous decision of 12 rounds in Sydney, Australia. The ‘Emperor’ Kamboos fought during the contest against the 24-year-old Wyllie, without qualifying, winning by scores 117-111, 115-113 and 117-111.
It is not clear why the IBF has given Kamboos a ranking #3 After just a fight in 140 against the second level fighter, Wyllie. That doesn’t make much sense. Kamboos has pushed above these talented fighters in the classification of the 15 best FIB in the light welter weight:
– Liam unemployed
– Kenneth Sims
– Jamaine Ortiz
– José Ramírez
– Elvis Rodríguez
– Subriel Matias
– Isaac Cruz
I can’t see Kambero beating any of those contestants. Those boys would be too good for a limited type like the ’emperor’, which is largely seen as a single hit by fans.
“The date will be June 21. That is the date we are pointing out. There is no movement on that date. Who Richardson Hitchins is fighting on that date, George Kambosos or someone else,” said promoter Eddie Hearn for Ring Magazine Channel from YouTube, talking about the possibility that #3 classified George Kambosos Jr. challenging Richardson Hitchins for his 140 lb IBF title in the summer on June 21.
“I don’t think the cut is so bad. It’s 13 weeks after tonight. Then, the cut will take four or five weeks to heal, but he will be fit, and he can start training again. He needs to do that date, and I think he can.*Note: Kambosos briefly held the light titles of IBF, AMB and WBO, but not the WBC. As such, he did not capture “all belts”). The accumulation will be epic, and I think it will be a great fight, ”said Hearn.
