For the first time in almost 10 years, a Berkshire Hathaway The employee claimed the Warren Buffett Grand Prix for $ 1 million for the NCAA support contest of his company.

An anonymous employee of the Aviation Training Company Flightsefety International, a Berkshire subsidiary of Buffett, won the annual internal roll contest after correctly calling 31 of the 32 games in the first round of the male basketball tournament called March Madness, according to a statement.

Oracle of Omaha, 94, was finally able to give the Grand Prix after relaxing the rules several times since the beginning of the competition in 2016. Originally, Buffett, a Creighton basketball fan, prepared to grant anyone who could perfectly predict the Sweet 16.

Then, in 2024, after the $ 1 million fat prize was not claimed, the participants received the advantage of renouncing the results of the eight games between the seeds No.1 and No. 2. Even so, no one broke the code.

This year, the rules changed again, so anyone who chooses the winners of at least 30 of the 32 first round games of the tournament would be eligible to win the prize.

In fact, 12 Berkshire employees guessed 31 of the 32 first round games correctly. The $ 1 million award was for the person of that group that chose 29 games consecutively before a loss. That winner went to 44 of the 45 games correctly.

The other 11 contestants receive $ 100,000 each.
