Terence Crawford states that “he will do some things by Henry Armstrong” by uploading two divisions to defeat Canelo Álvarez in 168 for his titles in September.
Crawford, comparing with the great world champion of three divisions Henry Armstrong (149-21-10, 99 kos), seems delusional and delusional and delusional 100% ignorant about the type of fighter that was talent. The more he speaks, the more I realize that he knows nothing about the history of sport.
If Crawford had the type of impulse to excel that Armstrong had in his 14 years of career from 1931 to 1945, maybe it would be great. I doubt. Crawford would have lost too many fighters if he had been as busy as Armstrong and fought against the murderers in the weight classes in which he has fought. Armstrong struggled to fight the best and stayed busy with his career. I was not taking a year off after each victory as Crawford does.
The Native of Omaha, Nebraska, has always taken the easy way, especially for its two indisputable championship victories. He did not fight against all the champions. He collected the fighting belts that already had the titles collected.
The aged one year Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) adds that a victory over Canelo (62-2-2, 39 kos) places it #3 pounds per pound for all time.
“I think Canelo is also up to the greats of all time, and I already see myself as a great time,” Crawford said for Manouk Akopyanarguing that he would deserve to be at the top #3 pound per pound all the time. “To essentially advance three kinds of weight to defeat an undisputed soon at 168 without stepping on that kind of weight, it is like some Henry Armstrong things. “
Crawford’s curriculum is too thin so that he is seen as a great pound per pound of all time. When you are only remarkable, Win is a Null & Void Errol Spence, that tells you that you are not worthy of being in any type of pound list for pounds of all time. Crawford is not among the first 100 on one of those lists.
Beating Canelo would not put Crawford at the same level as Henry Armstrong and is definitely not the best part of the 3 pounds per pound. People saw that Álvarez could be beaten by skilled fighters with their losses against Dmitry Bivol and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
You can add Gennadiy Golovkin and Erislandy Lara to the list of combatants who also defeated Canelo because possibly those guys were stolen when they fought against the Mexican star. In the case of GGG, he clearly beat Canelo in his first fight and fought well enough to deserve a draw in his second clash in 2018.
Canelo is just another example of a fighter who has accelerated his way through his career and should have a lot of losses in his curriculum if he eliminates controversial decisions.
