The previous lawyer Letcher County, Kentucky Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines plans to argue that his client is not guilty of the murder of the Kevin Mullins district judge as madness, as shown in the judicial records.
Stains, 43, “intends to present expert evidence related to a mental illness or defect or mental condition related to the issue of guilt and punishment,” according to a presentation of lawyer Jeremy Bartley.
The presentation also says that Stines “intends to present a defense of madness, as well as a defense of extreme emotional disturbance.”

Stines allegedly shot Mullins, 54, in the Mullins cameras on September 19. The shooting was Video trapped And it shows Mullins trying to cover behind his desk when Stines opens calmly.
Stines has been accused of a position of Murder of a public official. He declared himself innocent in November.
According to reports, men were friends for two decades before the death of Mullins.

The reason for the alleged crime is still clear.
Stores had been deposed in a civil demand related to sexual abuse in the same month as the shooting, the Louisville Couer-Journal reported.
The former deputy of Letcher County, Ben Fields, was sentenced in 2021 for repeatedly assaulting a woman in the same cameras where the shooting occurred. The woman was on house arrest at that time, and a court concluded that the fields forced sexual favors in exchange for keeping the woman out of jail.
Stines was accused of “deliberate indifference by not training and properly supervising the fields.
Civil litigation is pending.

In addition, Kentucky State Police confirmed for the Daily mail that he is investigating a different sexual scandal, and that before shooting, Stines and Mullins looked at the cellular phones of the other.
During a preliminary hearing in October, it was revealed that within the judge’s cameras, Sines made calls from his phone and the Mullins phone. The Kentucky State Police detective, Clayton Stamper, declared that the calls were to Stines’s daughter, Fox 56 reported.
