A student from Columbia University He has sued President Donald Trump and other senior administration officials after they tried to revoke their permanent resident status and withdraw it from the United States.
A claim was filed on Monday after immigration and customs control (ICE) received an administrative order for the arrest of 21 -year -old Yunseo Chung and told the South Korean native that his state was being “revoked.”
The demand alleges that the administration is “part of a broader pattern of the repression of the United States government of the constitutionally protected protest activity.”
“The repression of the government has focused specifically on university students who speak in solidarity with the Palestinians and criticize the current military campaign of the Israeli government in Gaza or the pro-Israeli policies of the government of the United States and other US institutions,” says the demand.

The lawsuit appoints Trump, as well as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pamela Bondi, the Secretary of National Security Kristi Noem, Interim Director of Ice Todd Lyons and interim director of the New York field office of the New York Ice William Joyce.

The demand says that Chung is a young man at the Ivy League institution with a promising future ahead after graduating as Valedictorian in his high school. He legally arrived in the United States during his father’s postgraduate studies. The lawsuit indicates that it has maintained an average ratings of 3.99.
Chung has been involved in the Pro-Palestinian protests On the campus, but he has not spoken with the press or has been in a high profile position such as Mahmoud Khalil, a former columbia student and legal immigrant who faces deportation.

His name was mentioned in media reports after participating in a protest on March 5. It was arrested for alleged “obstruction of the government administration”, but the university clarified it of irregularities during the disciplinary procedures related to its protest activities.

On Tuesday, a Federal Court put a temporary restriction order in ICE, saying that it cannot arrest and deport Chung. The expiration of the order will be decided by another court order.

The Trump administration has made it clear that it will chase foreign students who participate in pro-palestinian protests, labeling them with “Pro-Ahamas.”

In a statement to Fox News, a spokesman for the Senior National Security Department said that Chung “dedicated himself to the conduct”, but will have the opportunity to present his case before an immigration judge.
“ICE HSI will investigate people who participate in activities in support of Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization,” they said. “According to the investigation findings, the State Department can make a determination that can result in the revocation of visas or other action that affects the immigration status of a foreigner in the US.
