Johnny Hallyday’s car lost in the poker game is sold at an auction

A classic car owned by the late French rock star Johnny Hallyday before he lost it in Poker was sold for € 132,000 ($ 143,000; £ 110,000) in an auction.

Ville’s panther was given in 1975 by his then wife, his companion Sylvie Varan. Its custom -made accessories include visionary seats, a gold disc on the grid and the cubes that carry their initials.

The French auction house Osenat told the BBC that the vehicle was bought by a French man for “a specific project, which will argue shortly”, and the buyer had to pay an additional cousin of the buyer of € 26,400.

Hallyday lost his car while playing poker with a friend in 1977.

Osenat told the BBC that Hallyday, according to the reports, tried to buy the vehicle from the owner, but that his manager cited limited finances.

Ville’s Panther was a neoclassical luxury car with a style design of the 1930s. It was produced in Britain from 1974 to 1985 and had a Jaguar V12 engine.

Hallyday’s yellow and black model was one of the 69 classic cars sold by OSENA in Fontainebleau, near Paris on Monday. The auctions expected the vehicle to obtain between € 55,000 and € 80,000.

The Golden album is registered with the name of Hallyday. Varan placed it at the top of the grid to celebrate the best -selling albums he released in 1975.

Hallyday was a famous car enthusiast. But in two years, he was forced to separate from the vehicle after losing a poker in a friend’s house, said the Osenat Stéphane Povot website to the France website.

However, the lucky winner preferred the most sporty models and then exchanged for a Ferrari whose owner was a true Hallyday fan, he added.

Varan and Hallyday divorced in 1980.

Hallyday sold more than 110 million albums and starred in a series of films during a race that covered 57 years. He continued on tour until shortly before his death of lung cancer in 2017, at 74.
