Lindsey vonn He proved that he never lost his ski skill.
The alpine skier of the Olympic gold medalist returned to the podium during the weekend, ending in second place in a Super-G World Cup race on Sunday. The result occurred six years after the sport was retired for the first time and 11 months after undergoing a partial knee replacement.

“It was very difficult,” Vonn said. “This is not easy what I am doing. He simply felt very well to say that I did it. I can still do it.”
Vonn was emotional after the race, which was won by the Swiss competitor Lara Gut-Behrami.
“Age is just a number,” Vonn said. “If you feel good, and you are still motivated, and you work hard, you can achieve anything that establishes you.”
He added that skeptics and detractors also fed her.

“Sometimes the negative voices take me more than the positive ones,” Vonn said. “I use all that as fuel. It propelled me in some difficult times this year. I knew I could do it.
“When I crossed the finish line, there is a lot of relief to be where I know that I can be and silence so many negative voices that have been surrounding me, it feels like, in the whole season. It was a good exclamation point to put in the season.”
On Friday, Vonn spoke about his goal of competing in the Olympics 2026 In Cortina, Italy.
“These Olympic Games, it’s all I really wanted to do,” he told The Associated Press. “Cortina is one of my favorite places, so that is the carrot that hung in front of me.
“As soon as that is gone, I can ski a little dust and play tennis and live the life I have been living for the past six years.”

Vonn was last measured at the Pyeongchang 2018 Games in South Korea. She has 82 victories in the World Cup in her career and three Olympic medals, with two bronze for her only gold.

Vonn said Sunday that he planned to rest for a few weeks before heading to Europe to get more tests.
