The OMB’s super pen champion, Emanuel Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 kos) defends his belt against the small child #1 known #1 Classified Charly Suárez (18-0, 10 kos) in the main event of 12 rounds in ESPN and ESPN+ on May 10 at the Panthic Sand San Diego.
In the chest, light contender Raymond Muratalla (22-0, 17 kos) Battles for the IBF interim vacant belt of 135 pounds against ZAUR ABDULLAEV (20-1, 12 kos).
This fight should be the main event in this letter, since Muratalla is a rising star. This confrontation is much more interesting than the headline. Muratalla is trying to get a chance for the world title, but has been ignored so far by the champions.
The Muratalla Vs. Abdullaev and Navarrete vs. Suárez Live in ESPN and ESPN+, from 10:00 pm Et/7: 00 PM PT.
Also on the card is the weight contender Welter Giovani Santillan (33-1, 18 kos) fighting against the angel Beltrán (18-2-1, 11 kos) in a 10 round fight. Fans know Santillan from his defeat Brian Norman Jr.
Suarez, 36, is of the Philippines and competed in 2016, but lost to Joe Cordina. As a professional, Suarez has defeated a notable fighter, Yohan Vásquez, for a decision of ten assaults in 2023. Vásquez dropped Abdullah Mason twice in his exciting battle on November 8 last year. Unfortunately, Suarez does not fight as Mason. He is a boxer and will try to overcome Navarrete.
It is difficult to predict how Navarrete, 30, will see in this fight because he was educated by Denys Berinchyk last year, losing a divided decision of 12 rounds on May 18 in a fight that seemed to be a bleached for the Ukrainian.
Navarrete seemed chubby and 100% clueless in that fight. He had also worked badly in his clash against Robson Concicao, but received a controversial draw of 12 rounds in his fight on November 16, 2023.
Navarrete recovered from his defeat against Berinchyk to stop his best Oscar Valdez in the sixth round on December 7 last year in what many boxing fans saw as a useless Commercial rematch. Emanuel had already easily defeated Valdez for a unanimous decision of 12 unpleasant assaults in his first fight on August 12, 2023, and made no sense, apart from money purposes, so that the two would fight a rematch in 2024.
“San Diego is an incredible fighting city, and we are delighted to return with Emanuel Navarrete, who will become one of the great Mexican champions of his time,” said promoter Bob Arum. “Charly Suárez is a determined and undefeated contender who will have everyone in the Philippines that encourage him. Raymond Muratalla is a light weight of elite but has a high task against Abdullaev, who has been in a tremendous race for several years.”
