A man who called 911 during a drug -induced hallucination claiming that people were trying to kill him and that his whole family had been killed fired 30 shots at his house, which led his loved ones to hide to cover themselves, he lived illegally in the United States, police said in Texas.

Homer Salinas, 47, was determined to be the source of the threat when Ferris police officers responded to a home around 2:40 am, authorities said.

Salinas had been hallucinating after drinking cocaine and drinking alcohol when he shot 30 rounds, including multiple shots in the front residence where his family lived, police said.

When the officers responded to the house, Salinas was seen walking along a nearby street and detained. He claimed to wear a ballistic vest, which was false, police said.
