After the second lady’s office announced Sunday that Usha Vance Travel to Greenland With his son and an American delegation this week, Vice President JD Vance announced Tuesday that he will join her on the trip abroad.
President Donald Trump has been floating the acquisition of Greenland in the United States. The island, which is part of the kingdom of Denmark, has its own local government, according to Denmark website.
“I hope to visit Greenland on Friday!” Vance said on a tweet on Tuesday, which also includes the American flag emoji.

Vance said In a video that “there was so much emotion on Usha’s visit to Greenland this Friday, I decided that I did not want to have fun”, pointing out that he “would join her.”
The vice president said that he will visit Guardians of the Space Force and “see what advances with the security of Greenland.”
He said that “speaking by President Trump, we want to revitalize the security of the people of Greenland, because we believe it is important to protect the security of the whole world.”
A press release from the Vice President’s office indicates that on Friday the vice president and Second Lady “It will travel to the Pituffik space base in Greenland to receive an informative session on Arctic security problems and meet with US service members.”
The statement establishes that the base is the “most northern installation” of the Department of Defense.
“The vice president and the visit of the second lady to the Pituffik spatial base will take place instead of the visit previously announced by the second lady to the Dog Carrera Qimussersu in Sisimiut,” says the press release.
“The strategic association between the United States and Greenland has long played a vital role in our national and economic security. During World War II, the United States established more than a dozen military bases in Greenland to defend the Atlantic of the north of the Nazi incursion Soviet.
“In later decades, the negligence and inaction of the Danish leaders and previous US administrations have presented our adversaries the opportunity to advance their own priorities in Greenland and the Arctic. President Trump is rightly changing.”
