Donald Trump has announced new commercial taxes of 25% in imported cars to the United States.
The president of the United States said that the last tariffs would take effect on April 2, with collections that begin the next day.
Trump said the measure would lead to “tremendous growth” for the automotive industry, promising that it would stimulate jobs and investment in the United States.
Analysts have said that the measure will increase prices, reaching brands such as Toyota and Hyundai, and relations with tension with allies, including Japan, South Korea and Germany.
Mexico is the main foreign car supplier to the United States, followed by South Korea, Japan, Canada and Germany.
