The actor, the personality of the fitness and the businessman Jake Steinfeld are weighing a possible career for the governor of California. The founder of “Body By Jake” shared the news during an interview about “The Brian Kilmeade show“
“There is a good possibility that I will run for governor of California,” Steinfeld said.
“I meet many different people, and there is a good and strong interest.”

Steinfeld said the idea occurred after witnessing the destruction caused by recent forest fires in his Palisades del Pacífico community. He lost his home and his belongings in the fire and since then has fought with the reconstruction efforts, citing the California permissions process as an important obstacle.
“To get a permit to do something, take weeks and months and, sometimes, a year to rebuild, do something, put a roof in something,” said Steinfeld.
“It’s crazy.”
He criticized state and local leaders for their crisis management.
“You listen to the mayor and the governor, all they are singing is that we are at the speed of light, things are at the speed of light,” he said.
“I say, salt. Salt and walk with me, and I will show you.”
Fires have fed renewed efforts to remember both Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Basswith critics accusing them of not responding effectively. Newsom, who will not be prepared for re -election in 2026, has rejected retirement, qualifying it as a political trick.

“This time they have sunk a new minimum: exploit the victims of Los Angeles fires to obtain political profits,” said the governor in an official response.
Steinfeld, better known for his Fitness empire, has also appeared in films such as “Coming to America” (1988) and expressed a character in “Ratatouille” by Disney (2007). Originally from Brooklyn, he moved to California at age 18 to pursue his dreams.
“California is that place where dreams come true,” he said.
“Unfortunately, today, that dream has increased with smoke, both literally and figuratively.”
If you run, Steinfeld said he would do it as a Republican, arguing that California has lost his way.

“You have to stop,” he said.
“Because that dream of California and what California was and what it is today, is simply not there.”
