On Thursday, NBC News published images of their series of focus groups of Deciders, one in which the black supporters of President Donald Trump He declared that they do not regret his decision to vote for him, criticizing the Democratic Party.
One of the key conclusions of the 2024 elections was how Trump managed to appeal men of all races. The presenter of “Know La Prensa”, Kristen Welker, summarized that from a panel of black men in the swing states that voted for Trump, one of the greatest conclusions was that “despite some disagreements with the president about his tactics, they are standing for his vote.”
During a part of the panel, the focal group was asked if they approved or disapproved what the Trump administration has done since it took charge, with five of seven on the screen that shows its approval.
The focal group was produced in collaboration with the University of Syracuse, Commitment and Sagú. Margaret Talev, director of the Institute of Democracy, Journalism and Citizenship of the University of Syracuse, spoke about the other important conclusions of the session.
Talev emphasized that this is a group of niche voters who do not represent most black men, but however, this is a group that Trump attacked, thinking that the game had He took them for granted.
A focal group of black men who supported Trump in the 2024 elections talked about how they feel about their policies and the Democratic Party.
“More than an overwhelming support for Trump, which I heard was so interesting was only the total disappointment with these voters with the Democratic Party,” he said.
Talev recalled a section of the survey that was not shown in the segment, where the panel was asked what his advice would be for the Democratic Party to recover, and one of them replied: “resign”, causing laughter of others.
Welker showed another part of the images of the Focal Group, where the host asked which they believe the group are the key characteristics of today’s Democratic Party.
“I would say: ‘Liars’,” a man replied. “Many people exchange privileged information, many people who work for lobbyists and not for people. Honestly, they have failed in everything.”
“I think ‘lost’,” he said, using a word to summarize the state of the part. “They are a lost group“
“I would add to that, with lies, only a lot of false promises,” added another man. “I would say ‘attack our children,” he said, going to hit the Democratic party as “you just can’t identify. Just trying to sell a dream that is not really reality.”

“I would say ‘manipulation’,” another man replied. “For me, they seem to be more scared to follow them than to follow what your heart really believes that it should do.”
After some more answers, Welker replied that he was “so revealing” listening to these voters’ responses, arguing that the subtext is that their votes should not be taken for granted.
“That is correct and if you were a Democratic strategist who watched this, you would hit your head against the wall saying:” But what about this? But what about them? “Talev said.

She continued arguing that part of this criticism comes from the experiences of these men with the political system and part of it is how they consume information, as through memes and social networks.
“But some of this is not that,” Talev said. “Some of this is your experience lived and your frustration with what was assumed by default as the part that should have been representing all the time.”
