William Shatner He had some less reassuring advice for Gayle King before his trip to space.
In 2021, the actor “Star Trek” made history when he became the oldest person to travel to space after flying aboard Jeff Bezos’ new Shepard rocket. During an appearance of Thursday in “CBS Mornings”, Shatner joined King, 70, to discuss the host of the interview program Next space flight, which will lead with Katy Perry’s fiancee and Bezos Lauren Sánchez as part of a women’s team.
At the beginning of The segmentKing recalled having seen Shatner on television after returning from space, noting that he seemed “so euphoric” and “was so happy.”
“I saw you and thought, how should it be like that?” King asked.

“You’re going to feel it, Gayle. And I don’t want you to wear that dress because it’s the color of blood, okay?” The actor told King, who was dressed in red. “We don’t want any blood, Gayle.”
“No, we don’t want blood,” King agreed. “You’re right in that.”
Shatner advised King to “take control of your emotions” while I was on the trip, telling him that he would be “in an adventure” and that he had to “hug him.”
