At least 15 people live with bangkok skyscrapers

It is believed that at least 15 people are still alive and trapped under the rubble of a Bangkok skyscraper that collapsed after a huge earthquake from Myanmar and Thailand.

Rescuers say they have detected signs of life and have communicated with some survivors under the mountain of 10 -story debris.

Dozens of construction workers are still missing on the site, since the rescue effort is directed to their second day.

The earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred on Friday afternoon, local time, killing hundreds in the epicenter near Mandalay, Myanmar. Its powerful effects could feel hundreds of miles in the Thai capital, as well as in China and India.

There have been generalized devastation reports in the Saiging and Mandalay region, including flattened buildings and temple needles. Myanmar authorities say that more than 1,000 have died so far, while another 2,376 are injured.

In Bangkok, Miles experienced the effects of the earthquake when the buildings swayed and the water left the pools. The authorities said they received 2,000 cracks reports that appeared in buildings.

But the capital has emerged to a large extent, except the unfinished headquarters of the Office of the General Auditor, which remains the focal point of damage in Thailand.

Of the more than 400 workers who were in the place, at least 96 are missing, while eight have died and another eight found injured, according to the latest official figures.

It is believed that some are Burmes. Many Burmese migrants work in the Thailand construction industry.

Throughout Friday night and until Saturday morning, drones, tracker dogs, cranes and excavators were brought to help with the rescue effort.

At lunchtime, the authorities said they had detected at least 15 people live under the rubble, located about 5 mA 10 m from the top of the battery.

As the “building collapsed as a pancake”, and continues to collapse, rescue work has been difficult, which forces officials to refrain from using heavy machinery, said an official.

They said they could contact some of the survivors who “shouted and made noise.” Others were detected by their movements and body heat.

“We want to save them as soon as possible,” said an official. “Some signs of life that we receive last night have been silent. I want all Thai to pray for them, be strong.”

Officials have not yet discovered why the building collapsed and has given researchers for a week to investigate.

In a dusty corner of the construction site, tents and desks were established to record the details of the relatives of the disappeared.

Groups of people with a solemn face, mostly women, gathered in the store in the suffocating heat, their cloudy faces with concern. Occasionally, some exploded in sobs.

“I wanted to come here desperately, I wanted to see my husband,” a woman cried, who gave her name as Naruemol, while her friend comforted her.

“I just need to see it once, in any condition in which you are.”

A man named Siew, who was waiting to listen to news from two missing cousins, told the BBC: “I think the possibility of surviving is very thin … in my heart, I don’t know if they will survive.”

The senior government officials have promised to continue the search for missing workers.

Vice -Prime Minister Anutin Charnweerakul addressed journalists while visiting the site, saying: “We work tirelessly and we are still working 24 hours to make sure Everbody is safe.”

“We will continue working until no one is left inside … we always have hope.”
