Hurricane Helene The survivor Mona Roper is asking that FEMA be eliminated six months after the storm brought landslides and historical floods to the communities of the Apalaches of the West of North Carolina.
His calls occurred in response to the secretary of the DHS, Kristi Noem, revealing his plan to remodel how disaster relief is handled, which implies eliminating the disaster resources agency that was criticized by many Republicans last year.
“She sounds very promising. It would be great to see changes, “said Roper about Noem in “Fox and friends”.

“Samaritan’s bag has been great here in the community, but Fema has not done so. There are still many people who lack the support of Fema. I lack support for FEMA, and it is something that I think should eliminate … it is absolutely the correct way in which they should proceed. I do not think the system is able to be renewed.”
Roper regretted that the agency designed for people who “need desperately” has made them “suffer even more.”
The mass storm of Category Cuatro hit the Florida coast last year and crossed the southeast, hitting states such as Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia along with the state of Tar Heel.
Members of communities such as Roper are still working to recover six months later.
FEMA DEANNE CRISWELL administrator open About the agency’s recovery efforts in “Special Report” last year, telling Fox News: “We have been on the ground since the Hurricane Helene hit Florida and before crossing North Carolina, and what he would say is because someone does not see a person with a fema shirt does not mean that we are not in the area.”
The agency has constantly defended their work in the region.
Roper told Coanfrerion Lawrence Jones that money “does not flow at the speed and volume that must be.”

“North Carolina’s damage to the storm is severe. It is different to have a hurricane in the mountains than to have one in Florida,” he said.
“I have been trying for six months to receive money, and our road and our bridge were dragged. Fema says: ‘You need to fix it. Arrange it and send receipts and we will send you money.’ The Road bridge is $ 500,000 to $ 800,000 to solve it, so that is not feasible.
She continued: “I am in an escape … from which I don’t receive help.”
