Katie Thurston reveals his treatment plan after recently announced Breast cancer has spread to her liver.
“My treatment is divided into six treatments that starts three weeks apart,” wrote Thurston, 34 years, on Friday, March 28, in the post on Q&A through his stories Instagram. “Treatment is basically a specialized day for travel/infusion/recovery.”
Further explained that her husband, comedian Jeff ArchesIt will be “probably missing the first three” treatments due to its schedule.
“The good news is that if I am, I can still travel where it is the next day,” she added.
One week After their weddingThurston announced on Friday that her cancer had spread to the liver.
“Unfortunately, after days of waiting, I unfortunately found out that my breast cancer has spread to the liver,” the former Bachelorette Star said through an instagram video. “It’s relatively small, but it puts me in the fourth phase.”
In another Instagram post, Thurston explained how this new update will affect its treatment for the future.
“The plan is basically the same as my breast cancer,” she explained after the fan asked how doctors would treat cancer in the liver. “Cancer, which is in the liver, comes from the spread of breast cancer compared to the new type of cancer. So in the basic point of view my large root cancer and will be focused. Six rounds of chemo.”
Thurston also explained that Zoladex, a drug used to treat cancer -dependent cancer, will “play a role while maintaining fertility during treatment”.
“Basically, I put my ovaries into a temporary menopausal state (I like to say hibernation) to protect them from chemo,” she explained in another post. “It will also reduce estrogen production, which is particularly important in the hormonal receptor ER+/PR+ breast cancer, as estrogen may stimulate cancer.
Thurston revealed that she also discussed the possibility of using a spare with her husband.
“I never like the word” I have to “something related to something. Something like” never say never. “Yes, Jeff and I have discussed the importance of my health and that when time comes, it will probably be the best choice for us.”
She continued and gave her followers “a friendly reminder to stop judging the celebrities that are devoted to replacement because you don’t know what’s going on in their personal life.”
