Richard Chamberlain, film, theater and television star, died on March 29 in Sweetherhehet, Sweethele, colorsFox News Digital confirmed. I was 90 years old.
Chamberlain died of complications after a stroke Two days before his 91st birthday, his representative confirmed.
Born George Richard Chamberlain, the beloved actor was known as the “King of the Miniseries”, and starred “Shogun”, “The Thorn Birds”, “Wallenberg” and the original script of “The Bourne Identity” of 1988.
“Our beloved Richard is with the Angels now,” said his lifelong partner, Martin Rabbet, in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.

After graduating from the university with a degree in Arts, he enlisted in the United States Army Where it served for 16 months in Korea and went up to the range of sergeant.
Upon returning to Los Angeles, Chamberlain pursued the acting and co -founded company of Angels, a theater group from Los Angeles. His first television appearance was for a guest place in Alfred Hitchcock presents in 1959.

Then he began to appear in the popular American television series, including “Gunsmoke”, “Mr. Lucky” and “Riverboat”, before getting the role of “Dr. Kildare”, which earned him his first Golden Globe prize in 1963.
Together with the emergence of his career as an actor, he became a successful singer and scored a success among the 10 best with a vocal version of the main song for ICDARE, “Three Stars Will Shine Tonight.”
Chamberlain previously told Fox News Digital that the success of the “Dr. Ire” was fast. The show reported the adventures of a young medical intern and his surgeon mentor.
“It happened a bit fast,” he said. “We began to obtain fans mail at a huge pace. Something like 12,000 letters per week, that (the network) had never experienced before. Even Clark Gable was not receiving so much fans mail. And the study, of course, replied everything. I did not have the time or energy. But that made me realize that something was happening that could be overwhelming.”

“And then, if we ever had breaks during the filming schedule, I was under contract in MGM at that time, the study would send me to advertise or work,” Chamberlain continued. “Sometimes we find quite enthusiastic people from people … people aligned for miles just to get my autograph. I thought: ‘This is wonderful. I am very happy that they want this.’ But I didn’t know why they wanted it.

“Shogun” obtained praise from Chamberlain and another Golden Globe award in 1981. He won another balloon in 1984 for the best actor in a miniseries or a television film on “The Thorn Birds”.
Chamberlain previously told Fox News Digital that, as a romantic man, he would have been “a disaster” and “horrible” for his career if the public had known the truth about his sexuality.
The screen icon did not come out as a gay man until he was almost 70 years old.

“I had to be very careful and very circumpetic,” he said. “The magazines did many interviews, and they suspected. I would say: ‘Well, I’m not terribly busy.’ I had to be careful for a long time.”

He added: “It was an inhibitor, but I got so used to it so much that it was usual to be a bit careful and on guard in certain situations. Yes, I would have been a happier person to be out and free and all that. But I already had a lot to be happy. He was a work actor, and that is the main thing he wanted outside of this life.”
