They are our social problems only a culmination of random adverse incidents, or are the predictable results of unhappy adults that were previously abused and abandoned children?

The children we have left will be seen in one way or another: society will always suffer from those who neglect.

I was one of those Children who suffered. I was abandoned my father, who, even until his death, never bothered to establish a relationship with me.

The problem of child abandonment persists throughout the American culture and is at the root of all our social evils today.

Unfortunately, I am far from being the only child who has experienced the pain and trauma of the lack of father. The problem of child abandonment persists throughout the American culture and is at the root of all our social evils today. The same attitude of negligence of the parents that my father showed towards their children is more common than we would like to admit.

This epidemic is the challenge of modern civil rights in the United States

Simultaneously, there are obvious social problems, such as the lack of housing and drug abuse, which are difficult to remedy because they originate in childhood full of rejection, abuse and emotional torment.

You cannot fix something if you are not willing to be honest about the source of the problem. Therefore, as a society and country, we must first recognize the guilt of our culture by perpetuating the Cycle of children without a father.

According to the PEW Research Center, 23% of American children under 18 live with one of the parents and no other adult, more than three times the participation of children around the world who do it.

Most of these single -parent houses are directed by Mothers, which has a wide variety of vulnerabilities and disadvantages for mothers and their children. In addition, there is a strong connection between single -parent houses and the lack of housing. The National homeless Center informs that single mothers direct more than 85% of homeless families.

These statistics may seem meaningless numbers, but reflect the reality of childhood experiences. My family, directed by my mother, experienced the lack of housing twice after my father left us.

Why US parents need to reject ‘3 harmful lies’ in current culture, says the pastor

There is also a clear link between criminal behavior and broken houses and dysfunctional. The criminals are not magically manifested during the night; They are created through years of negligence and abuse as children.

Even the justice programs office, an agency under the United States Department of Justice, has declared that the absence of the father is a consistent and powerful predictor of the levels of violence and a significant risk factor of illegal behavior and use of substances in adolescence. It is estimated that 71% of all children who abuse substances come from homes without a father, according to the National Center for the father.

Today’s children have much more access to prescription and illicit medications that make generations, and are using these substances to deal with their crumbled homes and deteriorating mental health.

According to a study conducted by the longitudinal Avon study of parents and children (ALSPAC), the absence of the father during early childhood is associated with higher levels of depression in adolescence and early adulthood.

The serious crisis that turns off the United States that nobody wants to talk about

Again, in my case, these apparently lifeless statistics painfully reveal my own experience lived. I have been Fighting with my mental health And self -image goes back to where I can remember.

The event that altered more severely my future was to be locked in a mental hospital for months when I was 8 years after expressing my desire to live anymore. I did not know how to handle my unpredictable life, and I did not have a father there to help me, so the suicidal ideation became a frequent part of my life.

Fortunately, I survived, but too many children who were like me never found an alternative way of living without experiencing constant mental torture. Studies have shown that children who come from single -parent homes are twice as likely to commit suicide and that 63% of youth suicides are households without a father.

I wrote my next book “The children we leave behind” to put the statistics. Often, children like me believe we are alone in our suffering. But when I entered adulthood, I saw that my story is too much.

Forgive your parents will change your life

My experience is not unique; It’s just that I have decided to share it and I have arrived here to tell today.

In addition, my story of overcoming my father’s abandonment should not be armed. I should allow the opportunity to examine our culture and better demand our Parents and families. If we really want to improve our society, we must be without fear of examining it critically and calling bad behavior.

As parents and as a culture, we must question if we are putting children first. (Istock)

As parents and as a culture, we must question whether we are putting children first or if this is something we say so we feel good.

Why didn’t my father love me? Why did my father abandon me?

While these questions will remain unanswered for me, I am proud to say that my son will never have to ask these questions about me.
