A writer and photographer has spent the last 18 months capturing incredible images of the Scottish islands.
Alastair Jackson documented his adventures while traveling to 42 remote locations, Swns reported.
Jackson’s photographs were inspired by the Scottish climate, light, clouds and landscapes along the west coast.

With nothing more than a camera, a tent and walking boots, Jackson spent a minimum of one night camping in each of the 42 remote destinations.

“My mother had said I didn’t want to travel to any other island, And he made me think when you grow in one place, you really don’t travel, “Jackson told Swns.
“Then, I wanted to explore.”
The traveler said he found that each of the places was a “fascinating adventure” while passing from the island of Barra to the island of Gigha and much more.
Jackson has always considered himself “young man with heart, and has been an avid photographer for more than 15 years, Swns reported.

He told the SWN that “he is inspired by the islands and their culture after growing on Skye Island,” which is the largest of the main islands of the interiant hebrids.
Throughout his trip, Jackson’s goal was to completely experience the different styles, landscapes and people’s lifestyles living in each destination.
“On this trip, I wanted to highlight the ‘life of the island’: people who do different things, things that happen on the island,” Jackson said.

“It is very important: people sometimes forget that there are people living (in) these places.”

Some of Jackson’s favorite places were his time on the island of Barra and Eigg, one of the small islands in the Scottish interior hebridesaid.

“I would get up early in the morning to get the sunrises and then the sunsets at night too, and I was lucky with the climate I had, surprisingly it only rained one or two days,” Jackson said.

“I even met a man who spends a whole week in Mull just for camping and taking photographs of the otters that live there,” he added.
“I met some incredible people on my trips.”
