The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) He revealed on Saturday that he canceled his comedian Amber Ruffin before his annual dinner next month.
In a note Sent to colleagues, the president of Whca, Eugene Daniels, wrote that the Board unanimously decided to leave a comic action for dinner as part of a “re -entry” of tradition.
“At this time consistent for journalism, I want to make sure that the approach is not in the policy of the division, but completely to grant our colleagues for their outstanding work and provide scholarships and tutoring to the next generation of journalists,” Daniels wrote.
The decision occurred one day after the White House personnel for communications and staff, Taylor Budowich, criticized the Whca for recruiting Ruffin.

“This year’s dinner @Whca will be organized by a second rate comedian who is providing the event by calling this” murderers “administration who want” feeling as human beings, but they should not feel that way, because you are not. “
Budowich also made fun of the decision to pull Ruffin.
“There is no responsibility in @WHCA, just a statement of evasion, pathetic! Many Whca members are pointing to Eugene privately for making the unilateral decision to recruit and sign this garbage, full of hate, comedian. Riddance!” Budowich wrote.
Although Daniels wrote that he had been planning this change in the last two weeks, Ruffin has been promoting his concert as recently as Thursday.
“I have my Google documents open at all times for throwing jokes there and small thoughts that I am having, but I can’t help being like … we are a bit out, right?” Ruffin said in The Daily Beast Podcast. “The news is happening in a clip so damn that we are supposed to achieve that goal in motion? In addition, how could you forget what some of this happened, you know what I mean?”
