General Hospital Issues Viewer Alert for upcoming episodes amid the California wildfires

General Hospital issues a warning to viewers ahead of upcoming episodes as a wildfire spreads through the Los Angeles area.

“Our hearts go out to all those affected by the wildfires currently raging in Los Angeles County,” the show’s official account shared via social media on Wednesday, January 8. “In light of current events, today’s episode General Hospital (and a few others) may prove too difficult for some to watch.”

A windstorm sparked wildfires on the morning of Tuesday, January 7, prompting the evacuation of local areas. Several A-listers were affected by forest fireswith other stars showing their support for the Los Angeles community.

“Please keep this in mind before tuning in,” the message from General Hospital concluded. “Thank you for your understanding.”

The warning applies to the most recent General Hospital story line about Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) ignition by explosion and scream of pain. Two months before the scene aired, Duell, 37, announced his decision to leave General Hospital after more than 14 years.

“It wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life,” he wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “I’m extremely grateful to (executive producer) Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes for me they have been like family during this amazing journey.”

Duell wrote at the time that it was “not goodbye, but see you later”. The following month, he opened up about his decision leave the series.

“It’s a life adjustment,” he said on a December 2024 episode of the “Daily Drama” podcast. “I’ve got a lot going on in my life. There are a few things behind it, but one thing I said is that my dad died and I’m still coming to terms with it.’

Duell said he wants to spend more time with his partner Luana Lucci and their 16-month-old son, Dawson.

“I’m preparing for the next chapters,” he continued. “Right now I’m just trying to grow in a way that maybe I feel like I’ve been suffocating in certain aspects and sometimes you need to take drastic steps or be uncomfortable, and I haven’t done that in a long time. “

Reflecting on his run with the series, Duell said he had “a very strong comfort with it for so long that my identity was wrapped up in it”.

“It’s going to be a process, but to kind of bare it and really see who I am and where I am in my life right now,” he said. “It will be a little trip. I don’t know what the future holds, but I have a lot of work to do to reach the potential I know I have. Not only in career, but in many aspects.’
