Joe BidenThe family has become somewhat accustomed to being in the spotlight, both before and after he moved into the White House.
The same year Biden won his seat in the US Senate in 1972, his first wife, Neilia Hunter Bidenand their three children, Beau, Hunter and Naomi ‘Amy’ Biden, were involved in a car accident. Neilia and 13-month-old Amy were killed in the crash, while Beau and Hunter survived with serious injuries.
After a period of mourning, Joe’s brother Frank Biden give him a blind date Jill Bidennée Jacobs, in 1975. The couple married two years later and welcomed their daughter, Ashleyin June 1981.
“She gave me my life back,” the politician wrote of Jill in his 2007 memoir, Promises to keep. “She made me start to think that my family could be whole again.
Joe was elected the 46th President of the United States in 2020, but dropped out of the presidential race in 2024 to support his vice president, Kamala Harris. Harris ultimately lost the election Donald Trump.
During the last month of his presidency, Joe made history after becoming the first great-grandfather to serve as president.
