The Reagans team up to protect New York City in an epic and emotional Blue blood series finale after a madman threatens to endanger all of their lives.
Warning: Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 18 spoilers below.
The Friday, December 13 episode began with the murder of a NYC judge who sent shock waves through the city. As detectives Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baezová (Marisa Ramirez) started looking for murder, beating up the policemen Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) and Luis Badillo (Ian Quinlan) responded to a carjacking call heard over the radio.
Eddie and Badillo are ambushed by gunmen on motorcycles as soon as they exit the vehicle – and both are shot dead. On the other side of town, two men on another motorcycle set fire to Mayor Chase’s (Dylan Walsh), who is rushed to the hospital.
In the office of Deputy District Attorney Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and her co-workers are surprised when they receive a threatening video from a masked man who says that gangs in New York are united and ready to continue killing clerks and officers unless some prisoners are released.
They all soon realize that their cases are all connected to the Ace Double Tres (ADT) gang and Carlos Ramirez (Manny Perez) in the midst of chaos.
Before the mayor goes into surgery for his injury, he gives Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) keys to the city and tells him to get us out of it. Frank does, using every resource at his disposal, including Erin asking her ex-husband Jack Boyle (Peter Hermann), pull some strings and get him to sit down with prisoner Lorenzo Batista (Edward James Olmos), whose son shot the mayor.
Despite concerns for his wife Eddie, who survived her attack, Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), worked with his nephew Joe Hill (Will Hochman) to track down one of the shooters. Unfortunately, Badillo won’t make it.
Eddie, meanwhile, doesn’t stay down for long, jumping back into action after Ramirez’s daughter — whom fans met earlier this season — calls her saying her father is scaring her. After his own brush with death, Danny tracked down Ramirez, rescued his daughter, and took him into custody (using his usual charms and moves as the father himself).
Jamie and Joe eventually track down the gunman who shot Badillo when he came to visit his newborn child at the hospital. Before taking him away, Jamie urged Eddie to handcuff him, which she did using Badillo’s police handcuffs. The mayor’s shooter was also found and detained.
After a few anxious days, The Reagans get all the villains responsible for threats and shooting. After Badillo’s police funeral – attended by all – the family celebrated their victory with a family dinner.
In addition to Frank, Danny, Erin, Jamie, and Eddie’s grandfather, Henry Reagan (Only Caria) and Frank’s grandchildren, Nicky (Sami Gayle), Jack (Tony Terraciano) and Sean (Andrew Terracino), they all had seats at the table. Erin’s partner Jack was also sitting next to her.
“We have a lot to be thankful for.” I look around this table“I have to say, I couldn’t be more proud and grateful,” Frank blurted out before everyone said grace one last time.

Frank then happily handed the keys to the city back to the mayor save the day with the help of his family and officers. He then attended Badillo’s funeral with all his loved ones by his side and shared a sweet message to Badillo’s mother. “Please take a good look around you, all of Luis’s family is here with you today,” he said as tears flowed from the crowd.
Frank stayed at the head of his family’s table to finish the series – and was still the police commissioner of New York.
Henry remained without issue throughout the final but he did offer his eldest grandson Danny some sage advice about his love life. At the end of the episode, Henry was happy and healthy, still living with his son Frank.
While hunting for Ramirez and his daughter, Danny has a heart-to-heart with Henry about his personal life. “I always told you not to bring it home,” Henry reminded Danny, noting that “the problem now is you don’t have anyone to bring it to.” He then told Danny to promise him that he would “find someone” after this case.
Danny later heard his grandfather loud and clear he asks his work partnerBaez, on what appeared to be a date. “Do you want some pizza?” Danny said before the two left the precinct hand in hand.
After Jack helped the Reagan family as a favor to Erin, the pair went for a walk. Erin and Jack, who were divorced but seeing each other again, married a a trip down memory laneremembering what a good team they are.
“We tried marriage, remember?” Jack reminded Erin, who replied, “Yeah, and despite our best efforts, we’re still here.” One foot in and one foot out. Maybe we can try both legs?”
She pointed out that “everyone deserves a second chance” and promised that it would be “different this time”. Erin then suggested, “Party of two? Town hall? Tell me all about it then?”
Jack agreed, and during a family dinner, Erin said she had an announcement that suggested the couple were secretly married. However, after Jamie and Eddie shared their own big news, Erin decided to stay silent and gave Jack a knowing look across the table.
Jamie and Joe successfully worked together to track down the suspect, which was a heartwarming moment as Jamie had given Joe a car that belonged to his late father and Jamie’s brother Joe Reagan earlier this season.
The collaboration was made even more emotional after Jamie nearly lost his wife in a shooting. Fortunately, Jamie and Eddie were both safe to close out the streak. Eddie was, however late for family dinner – and everyone noticed.
When she finally arrived, she was carrying a high chair to add to the table. “We’ll use it when the baby is born,” Jamie revealed. Eddie confirmed her pregnancy, saying the due date was in June.
