Kayla Nicole candidly expressed why she was overcome with emotion during a recent food run.
Nicole, 33, former Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelceposted a video via her Instagram story on Wednesday, Jan. 8, showing the model visibly upset as she sat in a car.
“Oh my god, all of you. Can I be honest for a second?” Nicole said, “I just stopped to get some food at this restaurant.” I had to get some food because I just started crying uncontrollably, which is very good for me.”
Nicole added: “I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. I am an empath through and through. I feel things so deeply.”
At the root of Nicole’s emotional state, she explained, were the wildfires that continue to ravage the greater Los Angeles area.
“The state of my town right now,” Nicole continued. “I have family members who are displaced. I have people in my life whose homes are in danger. I know people whose houses burned down.’
Nicole didn’t mention if she was in danger of evacuating, but noted how the fires have allowed her to feel grateful for everything she has.
“I don’t think until we really understand the magnitude of the blessing it is to have a home, to have a place to call home, at times like this,” she said. “A lot of people lost everything last night and I can’t imagine how that feels.
Nicole then led a prayer for “anyone else who may still be in danger. I want to pray for our first responders. I want to pray for the people who have been affected and who will have to put their lives back together.”
After the prayer, Nicole wiped away her tears before ending the video.
Nicole, who dated Kelce, 35, for five years before splitting for good in 2022, is currently appearing in season 3 of the Fox reality series. Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test.
During premiere episode on Wednesday, January 7Nicole dealt with the scrutiny she faced over Kelce’s relationship with his new A-list girlfriend.
“He’s walking.” Taylor SwiftNicole said. “I just have a lot of s— online because she’s dating such a mega superstar.”
Later in the premiere, special units the soldiers pulled out an article from The Independent with the caption: “Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole asks trolls to ‘leave her alone’ as Taylor Swift releases new album.”
The article was published shortly after the release of Swift’s album Department of Tortured Poets in April 2024, Nicole via X wrote: “There’s no way to fully digest all these new albums. I’m still on Cowboy Carter.”
Nicole then fired back at critics who saw her message as a direct shot at Swift.
“I’m trouble free.” Mind my business. Never respond to constant vitriol,” she wrote. “Solid as they come, and don’t expect a pat on the back either. I just know that everyone has a breaking point and I’d like it if ‘yall’ (because you know exactly who you are) would leave me alone.”
