ABC announced on Wednesday, January 8 that America’s most-watched daytime television talk show will expand to weekends with a new streaming series called A look at the weekend.
Premiering on Saturday, January 11, the 30-minute show will be moderated by the Friday talk show panel, including the host Joy Behar and cohosts Sunny Feast, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.
Whoopi Goldberg will continue to moderate “hot topics”. View Monday to Thursday.
According to ABC, A look at the weekend will focus on the biggest stories in entertainment and the hottest news that are the main sources of social media.
With no brand new “hot topics” explored during the week, the ladies promise to share their unique perspectives on various topics with their own honesty and humor.

ABC“In addition to its most-watched linear season in four years, View finds success in meeting audiences wherever they get their content,” executive producer Brian Teta he said in a statement. “From podcasts to YouTube and now with new exclusive streaming content for the weekend on ABC News Live.”
While View found success in the ratings by discussing politics, A look at the weekend he is expected to take a more light-hearted approach to his subjects.
“We’re watching what’s been successful on the weekends on ABC News Live,” Karin Gilfordsenior vice president of digital media, ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks, said Variety in an interview published on January 8. “It’s easier on Saturdays and Sundays. They still cover all the stories of the week, but in a slightly different tone. So it will be the same format of the show. We’ll cover hot topics, but on the weekends it’ll lean a little more on pop culture.”
Fans View likely to see the co-hosts discussing their favorite celebrities.
In previous episodes, the 56-year-old Hostin expressed her support Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez‘with love story while Navarro, 53, shed light on her friendships with stars such as Eva Longoria and Gloria Estefan.
As for Farah Griffin, 35, she’s a self-proclaimed Swiftie who loves reality TV. Her latest favorite shows include Real Wives from Beverly Hills and Dancing with the stars.
A look at the weekend streams on ABC News Now Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. ET and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. ET.
