Jennie Garth leans on her ex Peter Facinelliin hard times.
Garth, 52, took to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 9, to share that she and her family have taken refuge with Facinelli, 51, after evacuating their Los Angeles home due to ongoing fires in the area.
“This is devastating for everyone. I am so sad. Deep sadness today. My family and I are safe. Our home made it through the night and we feel so blessed and so happy and so lucky,” Garth she said in a video to her 1.3 million followers. “I’m just praying for everyone else. We are so, so happy that more people were not injured or trapped in the fires.”
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared that she and her husband, Dave Abramsthey planned to return to their home and thanked their ex for letting them sleep over. “I think we’ll go back to our house. It’s a mess, but it’s cool. It’s still there,” she said.
Garth continued, “I’m so thankful for Peter for letting us stay at his house – me and all the girls, the dogs and Dave.”
Garth and Facinelli first met in 1995 and were married from 2001 to 2013. They have three grown daughters, Luca27, Lola22 a Fiona18. Garth married actor Abrams in 2015. Meanwhile, Facinelli is engaged to an actress Lily Anne Harrisonwith whom she has a son Jack, 2.
Garth reiterated her gratitude to her ex in the caption of her Instagram post, writing: “Just wanted to let you know we are safe. Peter and his family welcomed us and were so kind. I feel deeply sorry for our city and numb.”
“Our house was spared, but so much for cleaning and ready to start actively helping our neighbors, friends and fellow Angelinas,” the actress continued, adding that her husband “transports all our bags and boxes, loads and unloads.”
“I’m just thankful we’re all safe and have a home to come back to,” Garth added.
The fires started in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7 and continued until Thursday, ravaging the exclusive Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Santa Monica and Hollywood Hills area. Stars included Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal and Miles Teller they lost their homes in fires.
