Club Chalamet Creator Criticizes “Evil” People Celebrating Home Burning

As celebrities and citizens alike rally around the communities hardest hit by the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, one creator stands behind the popular Timothée Chalamet fan account has words to say to people celebrating doom.

“To those of you who have been private messaging me and laughing at me, wishing I’d die in a fire too, or drinking champagne for my misery, or that it’s my ‘karma,’ know that I know what you are and I don’t care about you” Club Chalamet account posted via X on Saturday January 11th, run by a person going by the name of Simone.

“I’ve read, deleted and blocked some of these messages and it doesn’t hurt because I know who you are again,” the post continued. “You are heartless and evil and the type of people who would plunder the ashes of houses to find scraps.

On Thursday, January 9, Simone confirmed that The Hollywood Reporter that she lost her home in the LA fires. “I lost my home in Altadena, but I’m safe with my friends,” the content creator told the publication.

To date, the fires have killed at least 11 people and burned more than 37,000 acres of land. Cal Fire. The fires also destroyed more than 12,000 structures and displaced tens of thousands of Los Angeles area residents.

In the same social media post shared on Saturday, Simone thanked followers who expressed their sincere condolences and concern for her safety.

“I’d like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who have reached out to me directly and expressed support, empathy and love in the wake of the #EatonFire that destroyed my home on Tuesday night,” she wrote. “I was in a fog of confusion, worried about what to do next, and exhausted from not sleeping well, all in between shedding tears.

The social media influencer went on to say that she’s “a little bit stronger” with “every day,” adding that she’s “confident that I’ll move on because of my friends.”

“I want to address the elephant in the room, which is the heavy trolling that seems to be happy to see me lose everything,” she continued. “I don’t care about these types of people, never have and never will. It says so much about their character when they rejoice over someone’s house burning down without realizing that I don’t even own it and risked my life to save 5 animals where most people would have left them to die, especially when you have the Altadena Sheriff’s Department yell at you over the bullhorn to evacuate.”

Numerous Hollywood stars — from Paris Hilton and Whitney Cummings on Jennifer Grey and Emily Procter — reportedly lost their homes to the historic fire.

“I’m so thankful I survived, but it’s my home,” Procter, who starred in the title role West wingCNN’s said Jake Tapper in an emotional conversation. “It’s my neighborhood. It’s my community. What we mourn is our lives.”

In the same X post, Simone explained that she is “temporarily living with my boss, along with my landlady’s dog and cats.” She said she will be moving in with a boyfriend in the near future “until I get back on my feet and find a new place.”

“In the meantime, I will renew my support for Timothée Chalamet in his historic Oscar bid for his inspiring performance as Bob Dylan A complete unknown” she added. “Finally, my heart goes out to those of you or your loved ones who have also lost their homes or had to be evacuated, and I hope time heals your pain.”
