Zelenskiy asks allies to honor promises of arms shipments to Ukraine By Reuters

KYIV (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called on allies on Sunday to honor all promises to supply Ukraine with weapons, including those to counter Russian airstrikes.

Zelenskiy said that last week Russian forces launched hundreds of airstrikes in Ukraine and used about 700 aerial bombs and more than 600 attack drones.

Ukraine’s air defenses shot down 60 of 94 drones launched by Russia overnight, the air force said on Sunday. It said 34 drones were “lost”, in connection with Ukraine’s use of electronic warfare to target Russian drones.

“Every week, Russia’s war continues only because the Russian military maintains its ability to terrorize Ukraine and use its power in the sky,” Zelenskiy said in the Telegram messaging program.

He asked Ukraine’s partners to implement the agreements that have already been made.

“Decisions made at the NATO meeting in Washington, as well as those adopted during the Ramstein conference on air defense for Ukraine, are still not fully implemented,” Zelenskiy said.

The leader of Ukraine this week said that he discussed with partners in the United States about the possibility of giving a license to Ukraine to produce air and missile defense systems.
