Apple’s next big iPhone upgrade will reportedly include a new model called the iPhone 17 Air Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
This seems like an obvious way to expand the lineup, given Apple’s success with the Air moniker for thinner MacBooks and iPads (I’m typing these words on a MacBook Air right now), and perhaps even more attractive than the iPhone Plus or mini.
Gurman writes that the iPhone 17 Air will have Apple’s first internal modem, which will debut in the new iPhone SE this spring. The phone will also be Apple’s thinnest smartphone to date – two millimeters thinner than current iPhones. So this would represent a step foldable iPhone and iPad the company is said to be developing in 2026 or later.
Gurman also uses other Apple products it expects to launch in 2025, including smart home hub. Missing: Vision Pro, the new version of the company’s mixed reality headset.
