Spencer Pratt comes to the defense of the victim of the forest fire in Los Angeles Mandy Moore following criticism over a recent GoFundMe plea on behalf of her in-laws.
“Let me tell you about Mandy Moore. Mandy Moore when I was younger screamed Mandy Moore. She booked my hotel for me because she was such a nice friend. As a friend, she booked me a hotel in New York – I had never been to New York. I feel like she even booked my flight because I was so much fun to be around. Mandy Moore, I’m going to ride for Mandy Moore,” Pratt, 41, said TikTok posted on Saturday January 11th. “If I see one more TikTok about Mandy Moore and GoFundMes, I’m going to come after you. Do you want beef with your worst nightmare, which is me right now? You write about Mandy Moore. I’m going for Mandy Moore.”
Moore, 40, whose Altadena neighborhood suffered huge losses in forest fires ravaging Southern California, she was then met with backlash from social media followers shared the GoFundMe campaign to support her brother-in-law’s family.
“Yesterday my brother-in-law and sister-in-law Griff and Kit (Goldsmith) lost their home and everything they own in the Eaton Fire,” the This Is Us alum wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 9. “With their first child on the way in a few weeks, they need our support more than ever.”
As the wildfires continue to spread through the Los Angeles area, several celebrities are taking to social media to share how they’ve been affected. “Evacuated and safe with children, dog and cats. Some users apparently took issue with the celebrity asking for money, with Moore saying, “And people asking if we’re helping our own family or crediting some arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone has is NOT being helpful or empathetic . Of course we are. Our friend Matt (Koma) started this, go fund me (sic) and I’m sharing because people are asking how they can help. We also lost most of our lives in the fire. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”
Pratt stood by Moore in his video post, again declaring that she is “the nicest dude ever.”
“Mandy Moore is not doing anything wrong,” he said, noting that he has known her for two decades. “If you were nice in 2004, you’re still nice in 2025. Like I talk so nice.” So don’t you dare come for Mandy Moore.”
He continued: “Maybe delete your Mandy Moore content because Mandy Moore is real. She’s a great person.” He doesn’t do anything out of pocket – he sends GoFundMes, that’s great. They don’t have to pay for anyone. She’s got her own life, probably her own kids, so don’t go for Mandy Moore.’
Moore, who shares three children with her husband, frontman Dawes Taylor Goldsmithshe lost part of her home in forest fires. “We managed to park and walk down our street to witness all the loss. Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now,” Moore wrote Instagram on Thursday.
She added: “It’s not habitable, but mostly untouched. We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio with all the instruments and equipment they ever owned. We lost the garage and the back house. Everyone we know has lost everything. Every house on our street is gone. My in-laws. My brother and sister-in-law – 6 weeks since welcoming their first baby. Our best friends. A strange feeling of survivor’s guilt. We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support. Thank you all for checking us out and offering to help. Altadena strong.”
Pratt and his wife, Heidi Mondayalso they lost their Pacific Palisades home in a fire that first broke out on Tuesday, January 7. Hills The alums said they had already evacuated with their two children, sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months, by the time their house burned.
In a video shared by Montag, 38, via TikTok on Thursday, the couple revealed the few things left of their house after the fire, which were all stored in a single plastic bag.
“A hummingbird — with some nectar cooked in it,” Pratt said in the video, along with “one (rubber) snake from the backyard, one crystal from the backyard, (another) crystal from the backyard, Ryker’s shovel from the backyard and broken pieces.” (Pratt owns by Pratt Daddy Crystals.)
