Tyson Fury made a retirement announcement on Instagram today, letting his followers know that he will be ending his 16-year professional career. It was a predictable melodramatic move by the Gypsy King after losing for the second time to Oleksandr Usyk on December 21. I predicted this children’s movement. Man, I can read that guy like a book.
Fury has made a lot of money with his huge Fortune of 160 million dollars. So if he is serious and not doing this to entice Turki Al-Sheikh to pay him over $100 million for his next fight, he has done well in his career.
With limited talent, Fury used his victory against 39-year-old Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 and parlayed that victory into amassing massive wealth. what a great hustle.
I wonder why Fury didn’t start complaining during his retirement post. That would have been classic. I still can’t forget how he was close to tears when he was interviewed after being booed after receiving a controversial decision against ‘Big’ John McDermott in his first fight.
If this is a real retreat and not a fake one, I’d say say goodbye and don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Fury. It is good to get rid of some of the weak fighters who have been given an exalted place by the naive rabble that follows him.
Resembling Fagan from Oliver TwistFury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) looked terrible in his recent loss to Usyk. He couldn’t do anything in that fight and was forced to retire. All the instructions given to him by his well-meaning trainer, SugarHill Steward, were completely ignored because he couldn’t follow any of them. Fury has never been one to follow instructions or adapt during fights. He is not very fond of listening.
“I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It has been wonderful. I loved every minute… See you on the other side,” said Tyson Fury in instagram in his retirement announcement today.
