Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubiowho was tapped to lead the State Department under the second Trump administration, was repeatedly interrupted by protesters during his Senate hearing on Wednesday.
A female protester was heard yelling at Rubio in Spanish, while at least two men, including one dressed in pink, were seen being removed from the hearing by Capitol Police after shouting.
“I have bilingual protesters,” Rubio joked after a protester yelled at him in Spanish, prompting laughter from the crowd.
Before the hearing began Wednesday morning, Fox News Digital saw Code Pink protesters dressed in bright pink with t-shirts that said “hands of Iran” and “stop killing Gaza children.” They also sported anti-Rubio stickers on their headbands and hats.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., asked Hegseth about the protesters during his hearing, including about the war in Israel that has continued since 2023.
“Another protester, and I think he was a member of Code Pink, which, by the way, is a Chinese communist front group these days, said that you support Israel’s war in Gaza. I support Israel’s existential war in Gaza. “I guess, like me and President Trump, you support that war too,” Cotton said.
