Next, a series of sharing options will pop up. You can choose the email option to send the file to yourself as an attachment or upload it to a cloud service like Google Drive. To download the file directly, scroll to the end of the Share options and tap More. There will be more options. Look for options that allow you to save the video locally.
On Android, the best option to save it to your phone will be labeled as Files by Google. Tap this icon to download the video to your phone, then use Android’s built-in Files app to view your downloads. On iOS, look for the Save to Files option, then choose to save the video to your device’s internal storage or iCloud drive.
The simplest option to collect your work is to download videos from the TikTok website or desktop app. This process is very easy compared to the mobile option.
Go to your favorite video TikTok.com and right-click on it. If you’re watching your own video and you’re signed in, or the creator of the video has marked their post as downloadable, the right-click menu will have an option that says Download Video.
Click on that option.
Congratulations, you made it! The video will be saved as MP4 in your downloads folder.
If you don’t see the option to download a video when you right-click, it’s likely that the creator of the video hasn’t shared the video publicly, or selected to disallow downloads.
It’s not the neatest option, but you can also record a copy of the video via screen recording on your phone. Screen recording basically captures a video screenshot; once turned on, it will record whatever is playing on your screen until you hit the Stop button. Play a TikTok clip while you’re screen recording and you’ll have a quick and dirty copy stored on your device.
You will have to play the video all the way through in real time. Note that this will capture everything that happens on the screen while you’re recording, so if a notification pops up or you switch to another app, it’ll all be on video. It also means you’ll still see all the menu buttons and text on the edges of the TikTok video, so it won’t be a perfectly clean copy of the video. But it’s better than nothing.
You can record your screen iOS and continues Android Phones with Android 11 or higher.
Active iOSGo to Settings, then Control Center. Click the green plus sign Add button next to the screen recording option. This will add a little gray-dot icon button to your home screen. Tap on it and Screen recording will start.
Active Androidswipe down from the top of the screen to open the notifications and settings screen. From there, you may need to expand the menu at the top and scroll through the settings widgets. Search for the screenshot. Tap on that and you’ll have options to record the device’s audio and display touches on the screen. Tap start to type.
If you’ve uploaded your videos, you’ve probably noticed the faint TikTok watermark in the frame. This watermark will appear on all videos you publish, as well as videos you download from other creators. Unfortunately, there is no official way to download a video directly from the platform after it has been streamed without applying that watermark. If the video is still in your drafts in the TikTok app—meaning you’ve shot and edited it but haven’t published it yet—you can choose Save Video and download a version without the watermark.
Generally, if any create videosyour best bet is to use a separate video editing program to edit your video before posting it online. That way, you’ll always have the original cut, and you won’t have to worry about your distribution platform and all your hard work suddenly going down.
