Nick Viall weigh themselves Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively ongoing legal sagashared his own opinion on It ends with us director.
Bachelor star he told Bustle in a profile posted Thursday, Jan. 16, was “not surprised” by the cast It ends with us distanced themselves from Baldoni, 40, as legal problems arose between him and Lively, 37.
“I had the opportunity to interview Justin a few years ago on my show, and I just felt like he wasn’t the person he was so vocally portraying himself to be,” Viall, 44, told Bustle.. “When the story broke that the entire cast and the author of the book (the movie is being made) clearly distanced themselves from him, I wasn’t that surprised. But I was surprised how quickly the internet started trying to find reasons to discredit Blake by bringing up old interviews and past alleged mistakes.”
He added: “I think the internet has made it easier for people to share other people’s opinions rather than form their own. This story only reinforced that.”
Viall interviewed Baldoni for his podcast “The Viall Files” in January 2023. When rumors of bad blood between Lively and Baldoni swirled in August 2024, Viall questioned why Baldoni had hired a PR crisis manager, Melissa Nathanwho previously represented Johnny Depp during his legal battle with Amber Heard.
“This PR team gutted Amber Heard online,” Viall said via his podcast at the time. “It was like a total attack on her character.
In an interview with Bustle, Viall was alluding to his previous comments to the Baldoni/Live feud and said he was just “sharing his opinion”.
“When I shared my opinion on this subject, I didn’t mean it as a statement; I shared my opinion and challenged my audience to ask different questions,” he explained.
Rumors of a rift between Baldoni and Lively first surfaced in August 2024 during a promotional trail for It ends with us when the pair, who were both the lead actors in the film, were not pressed together.
In December 2024 Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment. (Baldoni denied all the allegations against him in the lawsuit he won My Weekly.)
It ends with us author Colleen Hoover Lively described as “honest” and “brave” via his Instagram the same day the lawsuit was reported.
A few days later, Baldoni was among the 10 plaintiffs which launched a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for covering Lively’s allegations. (Spokesman for The New York Times he said Our that the outlet plans to “vigorously defend the lawsuit.”)
Lively filed suit the same day against Baldoni in New York federal court, which echoed her earlier claims — which were filed with the California Office of Civil Rights.
Baldoni’s studio filed a new lawsuit on Thursday against Lively, her publicist Leslie Sloane, and her husband Ryan Reynoldsis seeking $400 million in damages. The lawsuit includes allegations of civil racketeering, defamation, invasion of privacy in false light and other claims.
