TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew he answered for Comments from Donald Trump regarding Friday The decision of the Supreme Court ban the application in the United States
In a video posted on TikTok, Chew said, “On behalf of everyone at TikTok and all of our users across the country, I want to thank President Trump for his commitment to working with us to find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States. . This is a strong stance against the First Amendment and arbitrary censorship.”
TikTok appears to be counting on Trump’s support to protect the Chinese-owned platform’s legitimacy in the US. Trump clearly wants everyone to see him as the savior of TikTok, writing on Truth Social that he is in talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping to find a way to save the platform.
“We are grateful and honored to have the support of a president who truly understands our platform, uses TikTok to express his ideas and perspectives, connect with the world, and generate more than 60 billion views on his content in the process. Chew continued. “Rest assured, we will do everything we can to ensure our platform flourishes… More to come.”
On Friday morning, the Supreme Court ruled that the ban on TikTok will pass. Currently, it is unclear whether TikTok will disable the app for users in the US this Sunday or if the app plans to wait and see if the Trump administration can negotiate a resolution.
Meanwhile, here are some TikTok alternatives for your inspection.
